Devops Engineer

Job Description

Technical Skills

1. 1 - 2 years of professional working experience as DevOps Engineer
2. Strong knowledge of Linux server administration and hand-on expertise in configuration management
3. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS OR Azure OR GCP)
4. Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.)
5. Experience with Docker and containerized deployments
6. Understanding of web application architectures (APIs, databases, queues)
7. Database management (MySQL / PostgreSQL)
8. Monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, CloudWatch, etc.)

Preferred / Nice to Have

1. Knowledge of Kubernetes (basic to intermediate)
2. Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
3. Experience with high-availability systems

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Deployment

1. Design, deploy, and maintain cloud-based infrastructure for the system
2. Manage environments (Dev / UAT / Production)
3. Automate deployments using CI/CD pipelines
4. Ensure high availability, scalability, and fault tolerance

CI/CD & Release Management

1. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application and database deployments
2. Support zero-downtime or low-downtime releases
3. Manage versioning, rollback strategies, and release tagging

System Monitoring & Performance

1. Monitor application performance, uptime, and resource usage
2. Set up alerts for system health, errors, and capacity thresholds
3. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks

Security & Compliance

1. Implement security best practices (SSL, secrets management, access controls)
2. Manage role-based access for servers, services, and tools
3. Ensure secure handling of employee and HR-related data

Backup & Disaster Recovery

1. Configure automated backups (databases, files, configs)
2. Define and test disaster recovery and restore procedures

Collaboration & Support

1. Work closely with developers to support deployments and debugging
2. Assist QA during testing cycles
3. Provide production support and incident resolution
4. Maintain infrastructure documentation and SOPs
