DevOps Intern

Job Description

The DevOps Intern will assist the engineering and operations teams in supporting, automating, and optimizing deployment pipelines and infrastructure. This role provides hands-on exposure to DevOps tools, cloud platforms, CI/CD processes, and system monitoring while working in a collaborative, learning-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Infrastructure & Cloud Support

   • Assist in managing cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

   • Support basic server setup, configuration, and maintenance

   • Help monitor system performance, availability, and security

2. CI/CD & Automation

   • Support CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.

   • Assist in automating repetitive tasks using scripts (Shell, Python, etc.)

   • Help maintain version control repositories (Git)

3. Monitoring & Troubleshooting

   • Assist in monitoring applications and infrastructure using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch

   • Help troubleshoot deployment and environment-related issues

   • Document issues and resolutions for future reference

4. Collaboration & Documentation

   • Work closely with developers, QA, and operations teams

   • Maintain technical documentation and standard operating procedures

   • Participate in team meetings, reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions

5. Learning & Improvement

   • Learn DevOps best practices, security basics, and cloud cost optimization

   • Support continuous improvement initiatives across systems and processes

Required Skills (Basic / Learning Level)

• Basic understanding of Linux/Unix systems

• Familiarity with Git and version control concepts

• Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP – any one)

• Understanding of CI/CD concepts

• Scripting basics (Shell or Python preferred)

Good to Have (Optional)

• Exposure to Docker and container concepts

• Basic understanding of Kubernetes

• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)

• Awareness of networking and security fundamentals

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed BE/BTech / BCA / MCA / MSc (CS/IT) or equivalent

• Freshers or final-year students welcome

• Passion for DevOps, automation, and cloud technologies
