Business Analyst – EHR Development Domain

Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Business Analyst with hands-on experience in the US healthcare domain, specifically within EHR/EMR systems. The ideal candidate should be capable of bridging the gap between clinical teams and technical developers, with the ability to analyze workflows, document requirements, and support cross-functional delivery in compliance with HIPAA and healthcare interoperability standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather and document functional and non-functional requirements for EHR-related modules

  • Create detailed BRDs, FRDs, user stories, use cases, and process flow diagrams

  • Work closely with developers, QA, UI/UX designers, and clinical stakeholders

  • Ensure solutions align with HIPAA compliance and healthcare data privacy

  • Support clinical decision support, appointment scheduling, order entry, and documentation flows

  • Conduct gap analysis, workflow optimization, and impact assessments in clinical environments

  • Manage UAT coordination, end-user training, and adoption strategies

  • Collaborate on EHR integrations with labs, pharmacies, radiology, and billing systems

  • Define and manage user roles and access controls within the application

  • Translate clinical and operational needs into clear technical requirements

  • Utilize tools like JIRA, Confluence, Visio, Lucidchart for documentation and collaboration


Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of EHR/EMR workflows: patient intake, charting, billing, labs, etc.

  • Familiarity with HL7, FHIR, CCD/CCR, and healthcare interoperability protocols

  • Knowledge of HIPAA and regulatory frameworks for data security and compliance

  • Prior experience working in healthcare product or clinical software environments

  • Skilled communicator, able to align with both technical and clinical teams


Nice to Have:

  • Experience with custom-built EHR systems

  • Exposure to clinical systems integration and real-world deployment

  • Basic understanding of SQL or reporting dashboards for healthcare data
