Client Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with shippers, carriers, and customers. Act as a primary point of contact, addressing inquiries and resolving issues efficiently.
Carrier Sourcing: Identify and onboard reliable carriers. Build a diverse network to ensure freight is moved on time, regardless of market fluctuations.
Load Planning: Coordinate and schedule freight shipments based on customer requirements, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries.
Documentation: Prepare and manage shipping documents, including Bills of Lading, freight invoices, and contracts. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
Problem-Solving: Monitor shipments throughout transit, promptly addressing any issues that may arise to ensure smooth delivery.
Market Analysis: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market rates, and regulations. Use this information to negotiate better deals and optimize operations.
Reporting: Generate regular reports on key metrics such as shipment volume, revenue, and carrier performance for internal review.
Key Requirements:
Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Freight Broker in the US trucking industry.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of US trucking regulations, market trends, and logistics processes.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to negotiate effectively and build long-lasting relationships.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in freight management software (e.g., TMS), Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant tools.
Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities to handle unexpected situations during the shipping process.
Self-Motivated: Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and achieve sales targets.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications: Freight Broker Certification (Preferred but not mandatory)
Network: Established network of reliable carriers and shippers is a plus.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is preferred.
